I had to work New Year's Eve this year. It's ALWAYS busy on December 31st (everyone is trying to get their "little tax deductions" in by the end of the year :). We knew there was no chance of getting cut that night, so we decided to party like it was 1999 (wishing that it was...who wouldn't like a "do-over" decade??!!). Here's proof that we ended the decade in true-nursery style!
Rhianne and I had been at Walmart several nights before and saw these awesome headbands (and the glasses) and HAD to have them! We wore these for probably about 10 hours that night! I told parents that they were birthday hats in celebration of their baby's birthday :)
Britt brought fancy crowns to add to our party getup so we could ALL look fabulous! Liz, Britt, me, Rhianne, and Sarah
Oops we must have done it again! (I don't remember what, though....I wonder if Britt spiked my Voltage.....???)
Blowing a kiss to 2009 and ready for all the love, loss, laughter, learning and life 2010 has to offer!
Happy 2010!!!
I am so glad you were still able to have fun! So the question is...how many babies were born that night before midnight? How many after?
ReplyDeleteThanks Stace! I think we had about 4 or 5 from 6pm til like, 1145pm, then none the rest of my shift (which ends at 6am)! I don't think the first one of the year at my hospital came until midmorning! Totally strange!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun Mel! Wish that would have been me last year...but NO, my little stinker had to wait until the 6th. Just FYI, those 6 days cost us $2500. OUCH!! Love yer guts! You can be my nurse any day.
ReplyDelete:)
ReplyDeleteHEY! Now why is it that when I saw your comment on my blog it didn't direct me to your blog?! This is the first time I'm seeing this...
ReplyDeleteI'll be sure to stalk you from now on!
Hugs!
Mel- you guys are hilarious. You make it sound like this was a special occasion, but I know this is how you are every shift you work. I just wish I had more of them with you!
